Cogna Commitments For A Better World Seal Image

We believe in the power of education to positively transform Brazilian society. That is why promoting access to quality education is a material priority for Cogna. As one of Brazil’s largest education organizations, we recognize our responsibility to maximize the positive impacts and mitigate the negative impacts associated with our operations. We have adopted an integrated agenda that brings together initiatives across multiple fronts to remove economic, pedagogical, geographic, and accessibility barriers. These efforts combine inclusion and social impact initiatives, support for public education, and the continuous development of educational products and services.

In higher education, for example, we leverage our extensive geographic presence and affordable tuition fees to enable an increasing number of Brazilians to access undergraduate and graduate programs. To further maximize our positive impact, we continuously invest in expanding access through scholarships and partnerships that create educational opportunities. The expansion of distance learning has also played a key role in bringing high quality education to more remote regions, extending the reach of our initiatives.

We view distance learning, including both fully online and blended learning formats, as an important tool for democratizing access to higher education. These learning models reduce the need for travel, lowering costs and freeing up more time for study, benefits that are especially significant for students in remote areas. By expanding access to education, they help build professional skills while contributing to the local and social development of municipalities.

Ongoing Training For Educators

We offer quality teaching and educational solutions that transform the realities of schools and students. For us, it is fundamental to pay special attention to those who play the most important role in the students’ learning: the teachers. This is why we have virtual environments oriented to the continuous training of teachers:

  • Our corporate university, UNICO, offers more than 500 courses that may be accessed by the teachers at our higher education institutions.
  • Teacher Training Program (PROFS), aimed at K-9 teachers working in the schools in which we offer our educational solutions.
  • Training for public school educators through the Saber business unit.  We develop initiatives to prepare education agents in the production of training contents and provide support in the execution of action plans.
